Athens Suburban Railway
The Athens Suburban Railway connects Attica, the surrounding regions and the main cities to the capital’s centre, the Airport and Piraeus port, offering to thousands of passengers the choice of an affordable, fast and reliable transportation to and from their workplace.
At the same time, the Athens Suburban Railway [“Proastiakos”] offers access to major archaeological sites and close tourist destinations, as well as to the Athens’ residents the chance for a short get-away.
The passengers can choose the services on the Suburban Railway for their journey, directly from the center of Athens to “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport, or Kiato, and vice versa with a 20-minute journey time reduction.
The new “Proastiakos” Athens Suburban Lines in more detail:
- “Proastiakos” Athens – Airport – Athens Suburban Line
The line connects directly the “Eletherios Venizelos” Airport to the Athens central terminal station and vice versa, as well as the suburban line Piraeus-Athens, with daily services every hour. Services are also carried out in the Airport – SKA suburban line.
- “Proastiakos” Athens – Kiato – Athens suburban line
The line connects the city center of Athens with Kiato, with direct services daily every hour. At the Kiato station passengers with final destination Patras transfer to buses serving the Kiato-Patras-Kiato line.
- “Proastiakos” Piraeus – Athens – Piraeus suburban line
The line connects the Port of Piraeus with the city central station of Athens with direct services. Through the central Athens Railway station, there are daily transfers per hour, to the Airport and Chalkida.
- “Proastiakos” Athens – Chalkida – Athens suburban line
The line connects directly Chalkida with the center of Athens with daily services and vice versa.
