TRAINOSE S.A. provides the following services to individuals with special needs and persons with reduced mobility (PRM) on the Athens Suburban Railway  (Piraeus – Athens – Kiato – Airport) and Thessaloniki Suburban Railway (Thessaloniki – Larisa):

  • Scheduled transportation: Requires transportation planning at least 48 hours prior to intended transport. Individuals with special needs, or reduced mobility, who wish to travel on TRAINOSE’s trains should contact the Complaints Department (working hours 08.00 – 13.00, Monday to Friday)
  1. either by calling +30 213 0 121 121
  2. or by sending email via the TRAINOSE website by means of filling the special form

in order to be informed about transportation options, recommended routes and available support when boarding or disembarking.

After 13:00 and during the weekend, in exceptional cases passengers may contact the Customer Call Center by calling 14511.

  • Non scheduled disabled PRM transportation by train: Passengers with reduced mobility will still be able to board the train, even if they come to a TRAINOSE ticket booth or information stand without having planned their journey for at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Stations and trains of the Athens Suburban Railway offer the following possibilities to PRM:
  1. Use of a special ramp for boarding and disembarkation of passengers with reduced mobility (on most trains)
  2. Ability to provide visual information via screens as well as information regarding the next train station (on most trains)
  3. Audio announcements providing for passenger information and announcements regarding the next train station (in all trains)
  4. Ticket booths of low height (operating with personnel) at the stations Metamorphosis – Airport and at the station Ag. Anargyroi.
  5. Low-height ticket cancellation machines at all stations
  • Stations and trains of the Thessaloniki Suburban Railway offer the following possibilities to PRM:
  1. Use of a special ramp for boarding and disembarkation of passengers with reduced mobility (on most trains)
  2. Ability to provide visual information via screens as well as information regarding the next train station (on most trains)
  3. Audio announcements providing for passenger information and announcements regarding the next train station (in all trains)

Transportation of passengers with special needs and passengers with reduced mobility on the rest of the rail network of TRAINOSE with the exception of the suburban lines Piraeus – Ano Liosia – Kiato – Airport and Thessaloniki – Larissa:

  • Scheduled transportation: Requires transportation planning at least 48 hours prior to the intended route. Passengers wishing to travel on TRAINOSE trains should contact TRAINOSE’s Complaints Department (working hours 08.00 – 13.00, Monday to Friday)
  1. either by calling +30 213 0 121 121
  2. or by sending email via the TRAINOSE website by means of filling the special form. Passengers will receive information regarding transportation options, recommended routes and support the convenience for boarding and disembarking.

Due to limited working hours of the Complaints Department, particularly on weekends, in exceptional cases passengers may contact the Customer Call Center by calling 14511.

  • Non scheduled PRM transportation by train (on routes other than the Athens & Thessaloniki Suburban Railway): Such a transportation service is not possible yet. Passengers are serviced depending on their desired departure and destination station and the available support. In case passengers proceed to a ticket booth and express their wish to travel without having notified the company earlier, their request is processed on the spot and they are informed:
  1. if the intended transportation is possible or
  2. Which are the alternative transportation options (nearest boarding station, nearest departure station, etc.).
